We are a group of neighbors and organizers who are committed to disrupting the operations of all genocide profiteers. We refuse to normalize the development and manufacturing of weapons and military technology in so-called brooklyn. As such, we demand that the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) terminate their leases with two of their genocide profiteer tenants, Crye Precision and Easy Aerial, who manufacture drones, tactical gear and other weapons tech for the “israeli” Occupation Forces (IOF).

The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a technology center and manufacturing complex near downtown Brooklyn that is heavily involved in military research and development. It was originally a shipbuilding facility for the U.S. navy, arming the Settler-Colonial Empire in its violent expansion across Turtle Island. In 1966, the Navy Yard closed and was bought by the City of New York who then developed it into an industrial park. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) was established in 1981. Ever since, the Navy Yard has attempted to hide and obscure their severe involvement in military contracts by greenwashing and artwashing the operations of weapons manufacturers to whom the BNYDC leases.

Hidden among other industries including art, food, and entertainment—the Navy Yard currently leases space to two companies that are directly supplying military tech and equipment to the “israeli” Occupation Forces. Additionally, at least 6 other companies at Brooklyn Navy Yard have contracts from the US Department of Defense or ties to weapons manufacturers. The Brooklyn Navy Yard is owned by the City of New York and managed by Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, which is the real estate developer organization responsible for leasing space to war criminals. It employs over 11,000 workers and generates about 2.5 billion dollars of blood money for the city each year.

Crye Precision and Easy Aerial are the largest weapons tech manufacturers in the Navy Yard, but they are not alone in their profiting from death and destruction. For example, BNYDC leases to New Lab, which is a technology center partnered with the Department of Defense, Honeybee Robotics, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing, all of which engineer weapons and military technology. This program connects military tech startups to investors and serves “as a center of gravity for the Department of Defense (DoD) innovation community in the mid-Atlantic region.” While our goal is to evict all genocide profiteers, our current focus is on Crye Precision and Easy Aerial as they directly supply the “israeli” occupation forces committing genocide in Palestine.
